In Brief: This mod sends an electric current through the enemy Zoid. With sustained contact, lagging occurs. Although it doesn't hold enough juice to actually CSF an undamaged zoid, exposed internals are an expressway to major systems.

Description:
Most people have heard of the Guysack, the staple hit-and-run Zoid of the old Republican armed forces and the original sleeper Zoid. Unfortunately for the Guysack, it's not very good at what it does in that it has almost no firepower or staying power. The Imperial Army was intelligent enough to note the same problem with the humble Molga and give it a 2-Shot AGM Missile Pod, so at least it wouldn't be steamrolled by a passing Republican Gordos. The Republicans were slower to notice the same problem in their star player and cheap ambusher. However, after finding one too many armored companies of Guysacks flattened by a single passing Red Horn, the Republic admitted that it had a problem.

This began a drive for that most common of Republican solutions: the modification. One of these solutions was the Electro Grip -- a simple modification that allowed the Guysack's pincers to deliver more bang for their buck. Unfortunately for the Republic, their engineers got more than a little carried away designing the thing, not realizing that the cost of the part was going out of control until they finished the part and one cynical observer noted that the modification almost cost twice as much as the Zoid it mounted too. That's when the engineers decided to adapt it to the Guysack's larger brother, the Revenge Trap, and later the Guysack's badass grampa, the Death Stinger.

But that's neither here nor there. The Electro Grip passes a powerful electrical charge through the scorpion-typed Zoid's claws -- designed to take wires, actuator, motors, and other internals beyond their safety ratings and simply confuse signals from the cockpit and the Zoid core. Only contact is necessary to achieve this effect, and it slows down the reaction speed and strength of the Zoid overall. Handy, no? If it contacts exposed internals, the Electro Grip may stun that whole part of the Zoid. Unfortunately, on the Revenge Trap and the Guysack, this in not sufficient charge or current to CSF the enemy Zoid. On the Death Stinger, the mod may act like the Geno Saurer's claws and will heat up the armor of the enemy Zoid from the current it puts out.

There's no limits on this mod otherwise, and the three scorpions become a little fiercer in melee... provided, of course, that they are outfitted with the part. So reach into you pockets and it doesn't have to be too deep, because for just a little cash, this mod is yours...
