In Brief: The Dual Minigun is a pair of Miniguns put into a set. Each barrel is 25mm in size and fully automatic just like any other gatling weapon. These are not mutually exclusive with the standard Minigun part.

Weapon Type: Minigun
Ammunition: 25mm Full Metal Jacketed rounds
Rate of Fire: 20 rounds/second per barrel

Description: Not long after the advent of the Minigun came the advent of Dual Minigun: simply a pair of the ammo-blasting single-barrels wrapped into a two-barrel package. The rationale for the development of the Dual Minigun came from a few simple considerations: first, it was cheaper to bundle two barrels together, because you only had a single mount instead of two. Secondly, most of the Zoids that can mount Miniguns have space on the chest, back, or underbelly to mount more weapons of a similar design, and could similarly really use the additional firepower. The Dual Minigun was a cheap and simple solution to that problem.

Much like its close cousin, the single Minigun, the Dual Minigun is 25mm in caliber. Each of the two component Miniguns of the Dual Minigun can fire the original 20 rounds/second, meaning that this weapon can wear away armor through sheer volume of fire relatively quickly. However, the Dual Minigun shares its predecessor's problem of a fixed, non-pivoting mount. Still, firepower can often make up for mobility, and even without a pivoting mount, the Dual Minigun has proved itself in combat again and again. This makes it a common choice among licensed Zoid Pilot and Military Organizations both, combining the inexpensive and reliable choice of a Minigun with the old adage: "two is better than one".
