Description: The Assault Gatling Unit has been around for most of recorded history, and there are no records of who first created it. It was clearly in the deep and distant past, but both sides of the ancient Republican-Imperial Wars used this potent weapons package to destroy the enemy. Both claimed that they were the inventor, right up until they melted into the Zoid Battle Commission. It's easy to see why, too. The Assault Gatling Unit fits neatly onto the Republican Blade and Shield Ligers, whereas the Imperial Sinker and Elephander also mount the Unit with ease. And clearly, each side would like to think that this was their weapon.

That aside, the Assault Gatling Unit's invention carries so much clout because of the incredible destructive power of the Unit itself. It consists of a single turret, capable of rotating up to 360 degrees on the horizontal axis and as much as 45 on the vertical. On one side of the turret is a high-rate-of-fire 35mm Beam Gatling, capable of spewing out 30 rounds each and every second. On the other side of the turret sits a cluster of 16 multipurpose, radar-guided missiles. They're multipurpose, so they take 1.5 times as long to lock on, but boy, oh boy... That's alot of firepower between the two sides of the turret.

The drawbacks? Well, first and foremost, you can only use one side of the turret at once on a single opponent. If you had one enemy in front and one behind, this might be a different story, but both weapons can't hit the same target at once. Secondly, if you happen to be in an Elephander, kiss two of your most powerful weapons, the AZ115mm Pulse Laser Cannon & the AZ105mm Beam Cannon, goodbye. Whether or not this weapon is worth that is up to you. The Blade Liger also takes a hit, though far less of one. It just looses its back-mounted boosters, effectively slowing it by 45 kph. The Sinker also gets a speed detraction. It looses .2 Machs while flying, and also doesn't get the missiles. Just the Beam Gatling. However, the Unit can fire underwater. Only the Shield Liger looses nothing from mounting this part.

And the Assault Gatling Unit has also been public domain for many years, accounting for a slightly reduced price below what one might expect for this part. So, dip into your wallet... and this weapon will be yours.
