Name: Transport Retool Description: Two of the most popular transports for single Zoid Pilots and small teams are the Dragoon's Nest and the Hover Cargo, both sturdy, reliable, safe, and most importantly, large. The Gustav is capable of carrying two Zoids of Levels 1-4, and, with modification, an addition two Zoids of Levels 1-3. However, most Zoid pilots would rather have more Zoids than this, which is what really makes the Hover Cargo and the Dragoon's Nest shine. Cost is obviously an issue for the Dragoon's Nest, but the exchange program of Gustav and $40,000 for Hover Cargo after you hit battle number 20 has made the Hover Cargo more popular. Now, these Zoids come with some extra quirks. The Hover Cargo, for instance, has a Conversion Armor System, or CAS, in addition to its ability to carry Zoids, giving pilots that use an edge on the field of battle. The Dragoon's Nest is amphibious, and through sheer force of numbers, appeals to all that can afford it. Unfortunately for these ambitious Zoid Pilots, both the Hover Cargo and the Dragoon's Nest have a severe disadvantage: neither is capable of supporting a Level 5 Zoid. You see, the ZBC arranged the Level System partially around how technologically advanced or what the minimum requirements to upkeep a Zoid was. The Level 5 Zoids are large, heavy, technologically advanced Zoids that require facilities beyond those that the Hover Cargo and the Dragoon's Nest have. Other than the power of flight and repair bays, that's another thing that separates the Big Three from their smaller counterparts: the facilities to maintain Level 5 Zoids. The Hover Cargo and Dragoon's Nest just don't have what it takes. Does that mean that sanctioned Zoid Battling pilots without a team can't get Level 5 Zoids? Of course not. Enter the Transport Retool. This $20,000 package is a plethora of updates, changes, and improvements made over the stock transport. The 20k pays for replacement and upgrade of internal facilities, as well as installation of new equipment to help maintain Zoids that the transport simply couldn't handle before. The result? One of the transport's Level 1-4 slots becomes a 1-5 slots. Unfortunately, this also has a nasty sting in its tail: another one of the transport's slots gets downgraded to Level 1-3, as the new facilities took away resources from the old ones. Despite this, most pilots choose to purchase this modification. The lure of a Level 5 Zoid is strong indeed. The Dragoon's Nest can even have 2 of them. If you can pay the price, then you can have you giant, mechanized Level 5 combat machine. Just beware: this modification is permanent, so there's no going back. |
