Description: The König Wolf comes into this world without a single ranged weapon or even a coolant system. Had the Helic Republic actually engineered this Zoid from the ground up, you can bet that it would carry some kind of powerful ranged weapon that far outstrips its size. However, the Helic Republic did not create or engineer the König Wolf. Its design was based, in part or in whole, off of a rare kind of Europan wild Zoid - a feral predator that relied on melee power to down its opponents. With maneuverability to rival the legendary Liger Zero (how many Level 4 Zoids can say that they're peers of an Ultimate X?) this is usually not a problem in the wild.

The field of battle is not the wild. The König Wolf can jink and juke all it likes, but with weapons like the Hybrid Vulcan Cannon (the Zoid equivalent of a heavy machinegun), guided missiles, ballistic missiles, heavy mortars, and dozens of other threats, relying on melee alone can prove fatal. Clearly, the König Wolf engineers needed to slap on a few of their legendary ranged weapons, and quickly. The Helic Republic was pressed for time, and needed these Königs rolled out onto the battlefield quickly.

The first result was the König Autocannon, a respectable ranged cannon which is elsewhere described. Astute readers may also have noticed that I made mention of another part that the Helic engineers made for the König Wolf: "Of course, those aforementioned Helic engineers would never be satisfied with just two AZ50mm autocannons. But that's another mod... "

Well, this is that other mod. The König Wolf's ranged striking power was simply not the shock-and-awe extraordinary that the Helic Republic was looking for in a Zoid. So, they made it so. After about a year of toil on the part of engineers throughout the Republic, the Helics boasted a new weapon that made their König Wolf fearsome on the field of battle: the König Rocket System. The KRS is a set of four rocket boxes, each loaded up with five guided explosive projectiles interfaced with the König's native goggles and sensor systems, the whole payload capable of downing most Zoids if the GEPs find their mark. The boxes are mounted to either side of the front two legs, and cannot rotate in any way.

Now, the Empire had their own version of GEPs, which are a little different from these Helic ones, especially since the Republican ones are tailored specifically to the König Wolf. There are a few similarities, however. Like the Imperial ones, these basically walk the line between missiles and rockets: they’re dumbfire only, but use a weak internal guidance system to improve accuracy. Unlike any Imperial GEP, this internal guidance system happens to be linked to the König Wolf's own goggles and sensor system. The pilot can target anything that the König can see in front of it, and the GEPs will arc towards it and try to strike it. Unfortunately, these GEPs aren't wire-guided, so once they're in the air, there's no changing their flightpath. Furthermore, once they're used up sanctioned Zoid Battling restrictions forbid a reload. (But, as always, all's fair in war...) They pack the same punch as a standard rocket, but are quite a bit heftier. Still, it's well worth the price, given the benefit.

Thanks to that vaunted CP parts line, the König Rocket System is now available to pilots like you, all around the world. It's a pity they can only mount to the König Wolf, but they were specially designed for it. Everything from their exact weight distribution and balance that prevents them from inhibiting the König's maneuverability to the goggle-rocket link that guides them to their targets was tailored specifically to one Zoid and one Zoid only. So if you don't own one of our feral canine friends, you might be out of luck, but if you do own a König Wolf, this splendid part could be yours...
