Description: The Storm Armor of the legendary Berserk Führer is less well-known than the Fury Armor, but is still widely recognized for what it is. Though not widely publicized, many believe that the Storm Armor was a weapon developed by the original Backdraft Group to give Vega Obscura the edge in maneuverability and speed (which, if true, would have been pointless, since Obscura favored the Fury Armor). However, the Backdraft Group has absolutely no right to claim that they created this fearsome weapon. The Storm Armor, like the Fury Armor and the Berserk Führer itself, was originally developed by the Guylos Empire as a response to the threat posed to the 'Führer by the heavy assault Zoids of the Republic. The armor bears an uncanny resemblance to the close cousin of the 'Führer, the Geno Breaker.

No one knows quite how the Armor itself was developed, just as no one knows how the Fury Armor came into being. No one knows how many years were spent in some Black Ops lab, perfecting and re-perfecting integration of the Armor and the Ultimate X. To this day, no one fully understands the principles behind the Organoid System that this mighty Zoid possesses, nor does anyone even claim to understand the flawless adaptation of the armor to the Zoid. The construction of this armor might have been the finest armor of the Guylos Empire. However, the Storm Armor, like the Fury Armor, never saw action. The untimely fall of the Guylos Empire, coupled with the original Berserk Führer being particularly choosy about its pilot, prevented the Fury Armor from ever seeing the light of day. Though no one knows exactly how or why, it came to pass that the Berserk Führer was buried in that Black Ops lab, left to rot at the bottom of the ocean. Armor and Zoid became little more than a whisper on the wind.

The Backdraft Group comes into our story many years later, when the great leaders of the organization were desperately searching for a weapon with which to topple the Zoid Battle Commission. They started several projects to this end; one dedicated solely to resurrecting the now-lost Charged Particle Gun. Then, the ancient myth of the Ultimate X came to the ears of the Backdraft Group upper echelons, and they began the search for one such Zoid. They sent teams to the far corners of Zi, and quickly found and even captured the Liger Zero. However, the Liger Zero proved to belong solely to Bit Cloud, and was shortly rescued from the Group by the timely intervention of said owner and his teammates. So, the search continued, until the Backdraft discovered the awesome, deactivated, and naked form of the Berserk Führer at the bottom of the ocean.

It came to pass that Vega Obscura was irrevocably paired with the Berserk Führer, and the Backdraft Group was able to extract combat data and other information from the Führer's Zoid Core. Among other lost Guylos secrets was the plans for the Storm Armor. After the excavation of the Zoid, even with nearly limitless funds and the exact blueprints, it took the Backdraft Group many grueling months to appropriately arm and equip the Zoid. Vega Obscura, who eventually got a little impatient with the engineers, took the 'Führer onto the field of battle without armor, and did just fine. After that, when the Backdraft finally did manage to build the Storm Armor, Vega Obscura favored the Fury Armor. Thus, the Storm Armor fell into (pun intended) Obscurity.

Now only historians and mythologists remember the Führer’s imperial past, because of the far more recent struggle with the Backdraft. Every man, woman, and child on Zi knows that the Berserk Führer was and still is the symbol of the Backdraft Group. Those few who have survived battles with this armor have spoken of horrific battles that tested their nerve and skill as Zoid pilots to extremes they'd never even though possible.

The Storm Armor is much faster than both naked form and the Fury Armor, and actually retains all of the vaunted performance of a naked 'Führer. A booster system speeds the Ultimate X on its way in this form, and compensates for the heavy weight of the armor (and the Zoid can hover like a Geno Saurer). However, this speed is much needed, as the Storm Armor's only ranged weapon (conventional or otherwise) is the Charged Particle Gun. Most of its strenght lies in melee, in which the Storm Armor is strong enough to make anything short of a Geno Breaker or Gojulas Giga weep. Lastly, the Storm Armor itself is just that: armor. It makes the Berserk Führer tough, with durability only a few notches below that of the Fury Armor (which, despite being substandard for a Zoid X, is still quite good).

It should be noted that the Berserk Führer possesses the ability to utilize a CAS (Changeable Armor System) to equip several armors, including the Fury Armor and the Storm Armor. Though the Fury Armor is most popularized in the news-media, the Storm Armor and its yet less-known breathern are both very real and very powerful.

Weapons:
Strike Laser Claws:
The Berserk Führer possesses four Strike Laser Claws (two on its hands and two on its feet), all capable of charging with energy to rip and cut through enemy Zoids. Like those found on many of the Liger Zero armors, the Berserk Führer’s Strike Laser Claws feature a dedicated charging system, making them much more powerful (roughly 2 times sharper) than the standard Strike Laser Claw system. Needless to say, this can be a deadly weapon even from a swipe. Continued pressure can be dangerous to any Zoid. If that wasn’t enough, the Storm Armor’s specialty is close quarters, and it’s among both the strongest and cleverest melee combatants around. For most Zoids, this means that never encountering this system while fighting the Berserk Führer would be no less than a gift from the heavens.

Electron Bite Fangs:
The thing about the Super Charged Particle Gun is that you usually only get one shot with it. The Berserk Führer will often find that this single shot will dispatch many, but not all, of its enemies. That’s where these come in. The Berserk Führer’s fangs -- that is, teeth -- can siphon to energy from the Zoid Core to pseudo-charge themselves, increasing their cutting power almost as much as if they’d been charged with a system similar to the Strike Laser Claw. This makes the jaws excellent for downing an opponent quickly in melee combat; attempting to bite through the enemy Zoid Control Conduit is an old favorite of soldiers.

Crasher Tail:
The Storm Armor is extremely dangerous at a range, but is even more dangerous in close-quarters. This is because the Berserk Führer in Storm Armor possesses Strike Laser Claws and Electron Bite Fangs. However, if you'd like to jump this Zoid from behind, it's got you there too. The Crasher Tail is designed for maximum impact and bludgeoning damage, and can be used to knock the 'Führer’s enemies around as well. This weapon is capable of dealing heavy damage, so don’t underestimate it.

Special Abilities:
Super Charged Particle Gun:
The signature weapon of the Berserk Führer, the one it always has regardless of armor or loadout, is the Super Charged Particle Gun. This also happens to the only ranged weapon on the Storm Armor, making it both powerful and strategically valuable. So much so, in fact, that its limited to one use per battle (which can't be in the first round) in sanctioned Zoid Battles. The first step in the firing process is engaging the footlocks. Then, vents all over the body open and begin to release steam while the Zoid collects particles and charges the weapon. The charging process takes only 2-3 seconds, after which point its ready to fire. Then, off you go. 1.3 CPG strengths versus whatever happens to land in the beams path. The beam hasn't lost yet.

Frontal Hyper E-Shield:
The Frontal Hyper E-Shield is generated by the Storm Armor connecting its X-Breaker Claws and channeling its energy through them, like a Geno Breaker. It is as powerful as a standard Hyper E-Shield, meaning that it can quite literally absorb a full SCPG blast before failing. Also, it covers the Berserk Führer’s entire body from the front and sides (but not rear), and gets weaker the further from the generators it is.

Dual X-Breaker Claws:
The signature weapons of the Geno Breaker have been loaned to the Storm Armor. That's right: the two giant pincers mounted to either of its shoulders are X-Breaker Claws. Each claw is absolutely massive, and near invincible, capable of outright crushing some Zoids. They can also shoot out on 50 meter long steel cables, grab enemies, and drag them closer to Berserk Führer. The cables themselves aren’t nearly as invincible as the claws, and can be snapped or broken with some work. However, that might pose a problem for the Zoid being grabbed, as the entire process can be very fast. Note, however, that the X-Breaker Claws are unable to deliver an electric shock, like the Geno Saurer’s claws.

Organoid System:
The Organoid System bonded onto the core of the Berserk Führer allows it to learn and develop, making the Zoid more intelligent with each battle. The Organoid System can operate independently, but it usually serves to supplement a pilots own skills, increasing the Zoid’s overall performance. Note that the effects of the Organoid System increase with experience.

The other function of the Organoid System is less impressive, but still quite useful. The organoid which was originally bonded onto the core still possesses its Core Tracking sensors, which now interface with the Führer itself. Needless to say, this allows the Berserk Führer to track almost any target, regardless of how well it hides itself.
