Name: E-Shield
Cost: $18,000
Weight: 3 Tons
Function: Supplementary Defense/Shielding
Mounts On: All Terrestrial and Aquatic Zoids
Mount Location:
--Mounts internally to all Zoids. The E-Shield cannot be mounted with any other EP Part. This modification is permanent.
In Brief: The E-Shield can deploy and maintain a shield similar to the Shield Liger's own. The shield is essentially a weaker reverse engineered version and is only 75% as strong as the standard E-Shield. If the Zoid in question already has an E-Shield, the strengths are additive.

Description: The E-Shield is one of the most publicized and most useful tools a Zoid can have, but only an extremely small number of Zoids actually have the benefit of such a device. Starting with the development of the E-Shield and its debut on the field of battle in the famous Shield Liger, pilots have wished that they could equip their own Zoids with a similar defense. However, it wasn't that easy. Generally speaking, only a select few Zoids can ever even hope to mount an E-Shield, as the emitters and other pieces of equipment have to be built directly into the frame. Centuries passed without a solution.

The Extra Potential corporation, an organization dedicated to designing and developing unique (most internalized) parts for wide ranges of Zoids, was founded on just one part: the E-Shield. After hundreds of years of research and labor by countless scientists and researchers, one group made a breakthrough. The result is the EP-1, the very first Extra Potential part ever developed. It's an internalized, omnidirectional E-Shield that can be equipped to any Aquatic or Terrestrial Zoid. At 75% the strength of a standard E-Shield (and omnidirectional to boot), this generalized device was an instant hit among Zoid Pilots and armed forces, providing defenses normally reserved for the Liger family and other select Zoids. On top of that, there are no emitters (or rather, the emitters are internal), so the part is extremely hard to disable. Even pilots who already have an E-Shield at their disposal can equip this as an extra defensive measure, the second shield supplementing the first. (Imagine two shield layers.)

Of course, as with all Extra Potential Parts, the E-Shield comes with a sting in its tail. Once installed, the E-Shield device is closely integrated with the Zoid Core and can't be removed. Also, it can't be used with other EP Parts because of both internal space consumption and energy consumption. So, think very carefully about whether or not this is the best part for your Zoid before buying.
